Research Staff
The teaching staff of the University's Glass departments are all actively engaged in research activity through a wide range of outputs including:
- exhibitions
- residencies
- master classes
- workshops
- teaching in other international glass schools
- publication of books, exhibition catalogues, and other quality publications
- external lecture series
- training in additional higher education
- training on new types of facilities
- commissions
- international contacts with high profile glass artists
- information about glass practice.
In recent years the staffing profile has become increasingly more international with new members being appointed from UK, Czech Republic, Ireland, Belgium and the USA.
The department programme is further advanced with input from practitioners/ scholars/researchers from the Slovak Republic, Sweden, Denmark, France, Switzerland, Germany, Finland, Netherlands, Japan Australia and Lithuania.

Former research staff include Prof. Dan Klein, Kirsteen Aubrey, Christina Kirk, Mike Davis, Sylvie Vandenhoucke, Professor Peter Davies and Professor Zora Palova.
Previous research fellows have included RCUK Research Fellow Dr Vanessa Cutler and Leverhulme Fellow, Scott Chaseling.
