Research
Research carried out within IIRG is primarily international and is based on various projects, including conferences, seminars, workshops, classes, publications, exhibitions, the curation of exhibitions, short and long-term residencies, lecture programme series, consultancy, project management and commissions, specialist training, facilitation of glass usage of new technologies, and digitalization of databases, profiles of glass artists, exhibitions and related facts
Aims and objectives of IIRG research:
- encourage academic work on contemporary and history world glass
- increase quality of contemporary academic research in glass
- change vision and approach of general public to glass
- intensify international contacts and collaboration with museums, galleries, glass societies , glass artists and glass industry
- provide research support and advisory for internal and external research bodies
- support collaboration with local glass industry, regional glass artists and the National Glass Centre
- facilitate research of new glass methods and technologies which have potential of new development of glass forms
- enhance personal development of glass staff and research students.
