Gateway to Glass

As part of IIRG, the Gateway to Glass project was funded by the University of Sunderland and the New Opportunities Fund, with support from the National Glass Centre.  The project is a web based resource offering access to contemporary glass practice and research for everyone interested in glass. The website is still available to view though now the project is ended no new content will be added.

The New Opportunity Fund's £50 milllion UK-wide digitisation programme was designed to bring the learning material and resources currently contained in galleries, libraries, museums and universities directly into homes and communities. The Fund, the largest of the National Lottery good cause distributors, awarded grants to 150 organisations across the UK, large and small, who are converting a huge variety of material into digital format. The range of material being digitised includes archaeology, maritime, architecture, fine art, social and oral history.
